3 Easy Snacks for Kids (SBC #55)

My kids are snackers. They *might* have learned this from me..... but I will never tell.

Here's some things I've learned between yelling "STAY OUT OF THE FRIDGE!!"

Strawberries on toothpicks1. Fruit. Now - my kids LOVE fruit, so this is easy for me. tell my little snack monsters to go grab some fruit and they are off raiding the fridge quicker than a bunny steals lettuce from the garden! One of my kids will eat an apple straight from the fruit bin, but the others are a tad more picky. (ahem...).

To make it fun, they love when I cut apples into circles or make little chunks they can stab (repeatedly) with toothpicks. I get bonus "cool mom" points, if I can add some cheese chunks for mini snack kabobs. Fun, right? Ok, in reality - ANYTHING on a toothpick is an epic win.

2. Grab N Go. If they can swipe it, they will eat it. Cheese strings, BabyBels, Crackers in ziplocs, cookies in reach, baby carrots in small containers, cut up melon chunks, etc. Make it easy for them to just grab what they need.

3. Monkey Treats. Ok - I heard about this a while back and tried with my boys - who, of course, loved them. You take a banana and cover it in peanut butter or vanilla yogurt, then roll them in things like chocolate chips or coconut or sprinkles or something yummy like that. Some people cut the bananas in half and stick forks in the end to make them more manageable. Very fun, very mess, very tasty.

If you want more ideas for kid snacks, I recommend looking up day care menus - they have some very healthy and super easy plans. That's where I get a lot of my ideas from!
