Beyond Bedding {Review & Giveaway}

Back in the new year, J and I worked on several different areas of the house that needed updating and freshening up. We did the kitchen, the basement, the hallways, and Big&Middle's room. I think Little felt a bit left out of that fun adventure, so when Beyond Bedding offered for us to test out a bedding set, I know it was destined for his room. 

We sat together looking at pictures of all the amazing custom childrens bedding sets that they had to offer - sticking into the boycategory. They had a lot of choices: zigzags, monkeys, firetrucks, sailboats, sports, dinosaurs... I was really pleasantly surprised by the variety. Too often boys get ripped off on their options. 

I bit my tongue and let Little decide for himself. He picked.... Treasure Cove Pirates Children's Bedding. 

When it arrived, he just about freaked out with joy and off we went to clad his room in piratey goodness. 

The set came with a comforter, a pillow sham, a bed skirt, and a window valance. I am so impressed by the quality of these products - the comforter itself is absolutely gorgeous, elaborately detailed, and made of super soft materials.  The reverse side is red and white stripes, which really makes it pop!  The best part for me is the fact that it's machine washable. Night accidents happen, and the occasional food swipe gets tucked into bed sometimes, so it's nice to know the bedding won't be ruined if this happens. 

Plus, the sham is a great pirate flag!

The only thing I should have thought through better is that Little's bed is a small loft, and so there are railings and poles and random other things that make putting on a skirt and tucking the edges of a comforter over the side of the bed much more challenging. We put everything on anyway - at Little's insistence, and it looks not bad. It's made the bottom of the loft more of a secret fort, and there's only one section that we had to fold around a support post and tuck up around the stairs.
