Holy Clothing {Review}

A while ago for the summer blog challenge, I was asked what my style was. I confessed that my inner self had a romantic kind of style, similar to that of Holy Clothing.

Those who know me find the idea of me in a dress hilarious - seeing as I rarely wear one, and if so, usually hurry home to change back into my jammies as soon as possible. I am not a girlie girl by any stretch of the imagination, but this year, I've really wanted to have 1 dress I could wear and feel good in.

My trip to the local store proved disastrous - leaving me feeling like a beached whale and unlikely to buy a dress ever again. Shortly after, I was in contact with them and am very pleased that I'm able to review a dress!

After much debate, I decided to pick a Saria Scalloped Hem Gothic Embroidered Gypsy Sun Beach Dress in the colour of green jade.

It arrived quickly and I was so excited to wear it.

The only issue I had was the the straps were too big - but a simple tailor job made them shorter which made the dress be a complete perfect fit.

Handmade in India, the workmanship on the dress is immaculate - detailed embroidery decorates the whole thing, the seams are sturdy and durable, and the scalloped hem is absolutely gorgeous. Across the back is a stretchable panel, which allows the dress to move with me as I go about my day to day movements. A simple tie-back pulls the dress into a flattering shape, giving a more hourglass silhouette. The perfect length too for me at 5'8", I LOVE that it brushes gently across the floor.

I wore it out to a girls' night with my friends and received compliment after compliment about how beautiful it is, about the richness of the colour, about the details and everything. It kind of grows on you after a while to feel pretty.

Some of the things I really like about this company are that they offer larger sized women a chance to wear gorgeous clothes. They sell clothes from small to 7x - depending on what is available in stock. Plus they are constantly communicating and interacting with their customers on their facebook page and through email newsletters. They ask opinions on potential products, share what's new in stock or on sale, exclaim over customer photos, and just seem to genuinely care. That's refreshing.

If you are looking for unique and beautiful clothing, I recommend checking out holyclothing.com
